EU and nationals from any country within the Schengen area, require no VISA whilst other nationals require either of the below:
- Single VISA entry is required if you arrive directly by plane in Malta.
- Multiple VISA entry, is for those coming from outside the EU & Schengen Area and who whose entry point will be in any of these countries, prior to proceeding to their next flight to Malta.
- Other VISA options include a 90 day or longer stay duration for both the Single and Multiple VISA Entries.

VISA process takes up to 6 weeks, so students are advised to take this time in consideration to the starting date of their course.
Malta is connected with most of Europe’s major cities, via it National Airline, Air Malta, and several low cost airlines together with a frequent ferry service operating to and from Sicily (Italy).
For students arriving from the East, there is the option to arrive via Dubai, Turkey or any of the Balkan countries, whilst students from the West, can arrive via any major European city.
The School is centrally located in Sliema, and although we provide student accommodation, this cosmopolitan city offers a vast variety of accommodation options for short and long-stay students.
Whether you’re looking for a hotel, student residence, share with other students in a self-catering apartment or experience daily life with an English-speaking host family, you can be sure that HandsOn Malta will assist you to find a place you can call home away from home.
An enjoyable 10mins walk from the School, along the promenade will take you to the commercial center, bustling with café lifestyle & shopping centers, while, 10mins away, to the other side of Sliema, will get you to the entertainment area of St. Julians. Along the promenade of Sliema, one can find beaches, public gardens, blue sea & the vast open space to the horizon.
Public Transport in Malta is by bus and the short routes, service the whole islands, with a maximum duration of 1 hour to commute the island’s longest distance.
The ferry service between Malta & Gozo, the sister island, is relatively cheap and operates from early morning till late at night, especially during the summer months.
Other transport means available are taxis and car/bike rentals, with representatives from Global Companies, such as AVIS and HERTZ.
