Processing of Applications
A letter of acknowledgement will be sent upon receipt of the application form. This will also indicate any further documentation or information required to process the application. After the evaluation process, applicants are informed of acceptance, or advised of alternative programmes available.
In the acceptance letter, applicants requiring visas will be duly informed and supplied with the necessary information they require in connection with the visa application process. Applicants may also refer here for Visa information.
In case that an applicant still has to sit for examinations or is awaiting results, s/he may proceed with the application, clearly stating exactly which examinations and subjects are still to be taken or which results still have to be received. In such cases applicants are to send the latest available results of previous examinations and/or their latest school report. The University of Malta will evaluate the information submitted and, where appropriate, will issue a conditional acceptance, indicating the results that need to be obtained prior to the 1st September.
A large number of overseas qualifications are accepted as satisfying the entry requirements to the University of Malta. Each application is treated on its own merits. As a general rule applicants in possession of qualifications that give access to universities in their home country are accepted provided that their qualifications are of comparable standard to those required by the University of Malta and the course applied for does not require Special Course Requirements. In some instances, applicants may be advised to follow a one year Foundation Studies Course.
The University of Malta accepts GCE Advanced and Advanced Subsidiary Level certificates, the International Baccalaureate, the American Advanced Placement System and the Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE).
