The following are the tuition fees from Academic Year 2015/6 – 2016/7:

The University of Malta has revised its Tuition fee schedule for short-term (1 semester or 1 full academic year) for undergraduate visiting students as from 2012/3. Through these changes, a distinction will be made as to the Nationality of visiting students and the amount the study-units they take up during their stay at the University of Malta.

Prior to arrival, at the stage where applicants are in receipt of the letter of acceptance, students are required to settle a non refundable* deposit as follows:

EU/ EEA Nationals: €240
EU/ EEA Nationals registering for B.Sc IT study-units: €640
Non EU/ EEA Nationals: €1,080

The letter of acceptance will indicate the date by when this payment will be effected.

Upon arrival, students are required to register for a minimum of 8 ECTS per semester. In line with University of Malta regulations, students can register for a maximum of 30 ECTS per semester and a maximum of 60 ECTS per year. Visiting students can therefore take up anything between 8-30 ECTS per semester. The amount of study-units or the study/learning programme a visiting student takes up is usually worked out with the home coordinator prior to departure.

*N.B. The Non-Refundable deposit will be considered as part of the total tuition fees when the students would have arrived in Malta and registered for their ECTS.

Late add/drop requests

Requests to add/drop study-units after the official add/drop deadline will be seen on a case by case basis.  Requests would need to be submitted to the Registrar’s Office through the International & EU Office.  If such requests are acceded to, a nominal late add/drop fee of €11.65 for each study-unit change will be incurred by the student.

In cases where late requests to add study-units would be granted, the student would need to pay the additional tuition fees, before they can be inserted on SIMS.  In cases of late requests to drop study-units, no reduction or refund will be given.
