Course Description This qualification is for students who would like to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of motor vehicle engineering and maintenance. The certification provides knowledge which may lead to employment as assistant automobile light vehicle mechanics.  Through the various aspects of training that the certification provides, the student should be able to gain a good understanding and handling of tools.  The student will develop the skills of the trade, including replacement of parts as required in the periodic servicing of vehicles and to carry out routine maintenance.  The student will also follow studies in key skills subjects, such as English, Maltese, Mathematics, Information Technology and Personal Development.
Study/Course Delivery This programme of study addresses the competences required as entry level to the Mechanical Engineering sector.  The achievement of the required underpinning knowledge and key skills will be accomplished through contextualising key skills and adopting a highly practical approach.
Assessment Assessment of the programme is an integral part of the learning process. Varied assessment methods are employed. The learning process is completed by providing students with feedback that is both formative and summative in nature.
